About Ben, The Instructor

Background As an Educator and Skate Instructor
Education and skateboarding are two of my biggest passions. I earned my tutoring certificate in 2018 from CRLA, at Bellevue College. Since then, I've had the honor of tutoring Math & Computer Science to over 120 amazing and unique students in the K-12 age range.

Over the last 5 years, I worked as a Private Skateboard Instructor, and Program Director at Square State Skate in Boulder, Colorado. There, I taught over 150 students in private lessons and more than 2,000 in seasonal skate camps, diversity & inclusion programs, and school P.E. skate programs.

I believe that every student deserves the best. Over the years, I've developed a highly successful teaching method that focuses on each student's unique learning style and adjusting lessons in the way that best fits them.
Background In Skateboarding
I picked up my first skateboard 15 years ago and I've loved it ever since. The feeling of cruising on four wheels, getting air, all with the wind hitting the face. It never fails to make me smile.
To me, skating is more than just performing tricks—it's about balance, creativity, confidence, and respect for yourself and others. Skateboarding is my mentor. It taught me how to gauge risk, manage stress, and how to never give up. I see skateboarding as an art: the board is my paintbrush, and the world my canvas.
